The night after Saturday 23 October 2027 — how the night is measured
Islamic midnight is 23:53 and the last third of the night begins at 01:53 (next day). Measured from sunset (17:53) to the next morning's Fajr (05:53). Scholars differ on Isha after this point: some say its time ends here; others, including the Ḥanafī school, that it remains valid until Fajr but is disliked after this point. How this is worked out.

These times are produced by our own calculation engine using the published methodology. Our validation includes astronomical comparison with the US Naval Observatory and prayer-time comparisons against external reference data. Differences can occur between calculation methods, so please follow your local mosque for congregational prayer.
About prayer times in Bradford
These prayer times are calculated for Bradford at 53.7939° N, 1.7521° W, in the Europe/London timezone, so they follow the clocks when British Summer Time begins and ends. They are produced by AllPrayerTime's own calculation engine from those coordinates, following the published methodology, and are not copied from another timetable.
Standard and Hanafi Asr
Both Asr times are listed every day: Standard (Mithl 1) and Hanafi (Mithl 2). In Bradford the two are a little under half an hour apart around the December solstice, and about an hour and a quarter apart in late June. Neither is presented as the correct one — follow the convention you or your mosque use.
Short summer nights
This far north the summer nights are short enough that the usual twilight angles are not always reached. From the middle of May until the end of July the sun does not sink the 18° below the horizon that Fajr is based on, and from mid-May to late July it does not reach the 17° used for Isha. Around the June solstice, Fajr is published a little after 3:35am and Isha at about 10:40pm.
When an angle-based time is unavailable, or would fall outside the approved limit, the one-seventh-of-the-night rule sets the published time. Taking the night as sunset to sunrise, Fajr is not placed earlier than the start of its last seventh, and Isha not later than the end of its first seventh; the two are handled separately. In Bradford the limit applies to Fajr from late February into the second half of October, and to Isha from early March to early October. From November to January it is not needed. Each date where it has been applied says so, and shows the angle-based time beside it where one exists.
Before you rely on these times
The methodology page explains the angles used, the high-latitude rule, the two small margins added to Dhuhr and Maghrib, how times are rounded to the minute, and how results are checked against independent references.
For congregational prayer, follow your local mosque. Mosques may use different angles, margins or Asr conventions, so jama'ah times — especially Fajr and Isha — can differ from the calculated times on this page. If a time here looks wrong, please report it.
