London Prayer Times
London, Greater London, UK Europe/London
Calculated times — checked against external reference sources. These times are produced by our own calculation engine using the published methodology. Our validation includes astronomical comparison with the US Naval Observatory and prayer-time comparisons against external reference data. Differences can occur between calculation methods, so please follow your local mosque for congregational prayer.

Which Asr?
Both conventions are calculated and shown. Where a single value is unavoidable we use Asr — Mithl 2, which is a presentation default and not a claim that it is the London standard.
- Asr — Mithl 1
- 16:26
- Asr — Mithl 2
- 17:19
One-seventh-of-the-night rule applied on this date
- Fajr: the approved one-seventh-of-the-night limit has been applied, so Fajr is shown at 04:56 rather than the 18° angle time of 04:34.
- Isha: the approved one-seventh-of-the-night limit has been applied, so Isha is shown at 20:56 rather than the 17° angle time of 21:10.
About prayer times in London
These prayer times are calculated for London itself — 51.5085° N, 0.1257° W — in the Europe/London timezone, so the table follows the GMT and British Summer Time clock changes on its own. Nothing here is copied from another timetable.
Both Asr times, every day
London mosques do not all follow the same Asr convention, so both are shown: Standard (Mithl 1) and Hanafi (Mithl 2). At this latitude they sit between about half an hour and a little over an hour apart, widest in midsummer. Neither is presented as the correct one — that choice is yours, or your mosque's.
Long twilight is normal here
London is far enough north that the twilight angles behind Fajr and Isha are not always reached. Measured across a full year at these coordinates, the sun fails to reach the 18° Fajr angle at all on 60 days, and the approved one-seventh-of-the-night limit shapes the published Fajr on 221 days, with Isha adjusted on a similar number.
This is ordinary for a British summer, not a fault in the calculation. Where an adjustment has been applied, the page says so for that particular date and shows the angle-based time beside it, so you can see exactly what changed.
Greater London is wider than one point
Every time on this page comes from a single set of central London coordinates. Greater London stretches far enough east to west that its edges genuinely differ: on this site Dhuhr in Hounslow falls about two minutes after Dhuhr in Ilford on the same day. That is why Ilford and Hounslow are listed as locations of their own rather than folded into London — if one of them is nearer to you, use its page for the dates it covers.
Before you rely on these times
These are calculated times. The methodology page sets out the angles used, the two small publication margins, how long twilight is handled and how our results are checked against independent references such as the US Naval Observatory.
For congregational prayer, follow your local mosque. Jama'ah times are set locally and will not always match a calculated time. If a time here looks wrong, please tell us.
How these times are produced
- Calculated for London's own coordinates, not estimated from a nearby town.
- Both Asr times are always shown. Neither is presented as the correct one.
- Times are rounded to the nearest minute, once, when displayed.
