Ilford Prayer Times

Ilford sits inside the M25, and that decides where its prayer times come from. Until 31 December 2026 this page is calculated by our own engine for Ilford itself — 51.5576° N, 0.0728° E — which puts each prayer on the same minute as central London or one minute earlier. From 1 January 2027 it shows the London Unified Prayer Timetable, the single timetable for everywhere inside the M25, set up in 2011 by several London mosques and Islamic centres, exactly as published and with permission. From that date Ilford and London share the same times.

What that means for Ilford's Fajr and Isha

The unified timetable takes Fajr and Isha from UK observations rather than from a twilight angle, so these two prayers change the most when the source switches:

• Ramadan 2027 (expected to begin around 8 February): the unified Fajr, which ends suhoor, is 8 to 14 minutes later than Ilford's calculated Fajr would have been, and Isha is 12 to 20 minutes earlier.
• Midwinter: in January the unified Fajr is 16 to 24 minutes later than the calculated one.
• Midsummer: on 21 June 2027 the unified Fajr is 02:40 where Ilford's calculation gives 03:39, and Isha is 22:42 rather than 22:24.

Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib stay within a few minutes, because both sources rest on the same astronomy.

Standard and Hanafi Asr

Every day shows both Standard (Mithl 1) and Hanafi (Mithl 2) Asr. The Hanafi time comes about half an hour after the Standard time in December and about an hour and a quarter after it in late June. Neither is presented as the correct one — use the convention you or your mosque follow.

Short summer nights before the switch

For the rest of 2026 the calculated Ilford times use our one-seventh-of-the-night rule when the twilight angles are not reached or would fall outside that limit, and the page says so on each date where it applies. From 2027 the unified timetable's own observed times are shown instead, with no adjustment notice.
